The renovation proposals were to; carry out all necessary repairs to roofs and chimneys. Install new cast iron rainwater goods, remove existing “weatherproof” paint which holds moisture and is causing damage in order to expose and examine existing render, repair loose and/or damaged render patching as necessary with appropriate lime/sand render, repaint with appropriate materials to be agreed with local planning authority, introduce new signage (via separate applications for express advertisement consent and listed building consent as necessary, strip out and replace all damaged ceilings – where necessary increase ceiling height from existing height of 2 metres to give adequate headroom, install insulation and expose some of the original historic structure to view in these rooms, demolish late 20th C extensions as per recent formal applications for listed building consent, clear existing outside area including removal of late 20th C extensions to outbuildings to provide external seating area and bin stores etc, remove existing flat roof over bar area and construct new first floor extension to provide additional bedroom.
